One of our prestigious clients in Kuwait is looking for experienced Fiber Splicers to join their team immediately.

The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out fiber optic cable splicing, installation, testing and maintenance works, preparing and terminating fiber optic cables, operating fiber splicing equipment and ensuring all activities are completed safely and according to project specifications and quality standards.

SALARY: KWD 140

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform fiber optic cable splicing works according to project requirements and specifications.
• Install, route and terminate fiber optic cables and related components.
• Carry out fusion splicing and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.
• Prepare fiber optic cables, fibers and enclosures for splicing.
• Operate fusion splicing machines, OTDR and other fiber optic testing equipment.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
• Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing and continuity checks.
• Identify and rectify fiber optic cable faults and connection issues.
• Maintain accurate records of splicing, testing and cable installations.
• Read and interpret fiber optic network drawings, layouts and technical specifications.
• Install and maintain fiber optic joint closures, patch panels and termination boxes.
• Ensure proper handling, protection and organization of fiber optic cables.
• Inspect completed splicing works to ensure required quality standards are met.
• Maintain fiber splicing tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow project specifications, quality standards and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety at the worksite.
• Complete assigned fiber optic works within the required timeframes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• ITI qualification in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics or a relevant technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Fiber Splicer.
• Experience in fiber optic cable installation, splicing, termination and testing.
• Good knowledge of fusion splicing and fiber optic network systems.
• Experience operating fusion splicing machines and OTDR testing equipment.
• Ability to read and understand fiber optic drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cables, joint closures, patch panels and termination equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of fiber optic testing and quality requirements.
• Ability to handle fiber optic tools and equipment safely.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work under deadlines and in different site conditions.
