One of our reputed international clients is looking for motivated and hardworking Pastry Commis to join their culinary team in Kuwait.

This is a good opportunity for candidates with pastry and bakery experience to work in a professional kitchen environment, develop their culinary skills, and support the pastry team in preparing high-quality desserts and baked products.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pastry chefs with the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and baked products.
• Prepare ingredients according to recipes and production requirements.
• Assist with measuring, mixing, weighing, and preparing ingredients.
• Support the preparation of cakes, pastries, breads, cookies, creams, and other desserts.
• Follow recipes and instructions provided by senior pastry chefs.
• Assist with decorating and presenting pastries and desserts.
• Ensure all products meet the required quality, taste, and presentation standards.
• Maintain proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products.
• Keep pastry workstations, equipment, and utensils clean and organized.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Assist with stock rotation and monitor ingredient availability.
• Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
• Support the pastry team during busy production and service periods.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or supervisor.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Pastry Commis, Commis Chef, Bakery Assistant, or similar position is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of pastry and bakery preparation techniques.
• Familiarity with ingredients, recipes, and basic kitchen equipment.
• Interest in developing a career in pastry and baking.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Good attention to detail, particularly in food preparation and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Relevant culinary or pastry training will be an advantage.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and shifts when required.
